The Battle Arms Development Bolt Carrier Group features an M16 cut profile which is heavier than an AR-15 cut profile to prevent bolt bounce and slow down the cyclic rate for a more controllable and reliable rifle. The 5.56 bolt is machined from 9310 steel, case hardened, and then shot peened to increase durability and ensure that it will survive thousands of rounds of high-pressure military surplus ammunition. An important component of an AR-15 BCG that is often overlooked is the cam pin. The cam pin must be able to withstand a tremendous amount of force and is in constant motion while firing and guiding the bolt into locked and unlocked positions. B.A.D. machined their cam pin from 4340 hardened steel and is Nitride coated like the rest of the BCG in order to reduce friction. If you are looking to build a bomb-proof rifle, the Battle Arms Development AR-15 Bolt Carrier Group is one of the best.
